The Friends of Meadowlily Woods Community Association has filed the appeal with Ontario’s Land Use Tribunal. The group has hiredThe Yukon Convention Centre in Whitehorse on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.?Garrod-Pickfield, a law firm that specializes in municipal, planning and environmental law to argue their case.?The proposed development passed council in March after failing to be endorsed by the city’s planning committee.?
The Meadowlily group is appealing the re-zoning and community plan amendments required for the?development to proceed. Many of the arguments in the appeal are similar to those council heard from opponents in spring: That council erred by approving a development that is out of scale with the area it surrounds.
